Become a kid’s hero at camp

Volunteer Opportunities

As a non-profit organization, DYF relies on support from our volunteer community to provide essential support! We greatly value and appreciate individuals and groups who are able to donate their time to help us fulfill our mission to improve the quality of life for children, teens and families affected by diabetes.

We are always looking for volunteer camp counselors and activity leaders for our year round weekend retreats! These events are fun and provide a quick dose of camp magic throughout the year. Housing and meals are provided. If you are interested please fill out the volunteer application or reach out to Julia at philips@dyf.org.

Bearskin Meadow Camp:

  • Wake-up Bearskin Volunteer Weekend: May 25-27 in Sequoia National Forest

Every Memorial Day weekend, we gather to get camp ready for the summer! This is a great opportunity to provide service to the community while spending time at a place we all love.  While everyone is welcome, this event is focused around service work and not designed for young children; we will not have recreation programs or staff dedicated to childcare. There will be equipment and machinery on site, and conditions may be (extra) dusty. Come ready to roll up your sleeves, work hard and have a lot of fun with a great group of volunteers – meals and lodging are on us! If you are interested please fill out the volunteer application.
