A one day family camp for youth under 21 with Type 2 Diabetes
and their families in Oakland, CA.
Saturday October 5th, 2024 from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm
PROGRAM IS FREE
Location: MetWest High School in Oakland 314 E 10th St, Oakland, CA 94606
Free parking available and accessible by BART. Transportation financial assistance is available.
Activities will include fun and interactive educational sessions on nutrition and exercise, diabetes technology and type 2 diabetes medications. The event will be an engaging day of connection, free healthy snacks and lunch, vendor fair, hands on cooking demo, games, prizes, and more! PLUS, every family will receive a $100 gift card.
There is an English and Spanish track for the event and all ages are welcome as long as one of the participants under age 21 has T2D.
There will be opportunities to share and interact with other parents. Age-appropriate activities will be organized by DYF counselors for younger siblings. This is a joint program organized by DYF and UCSF.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants and their families.

Un programa de un día para jóvenes/adolescentes menores de 21 años con (T2D)
Diabetes Tipo 2 y sus familias en Oakland, CA.

El PROGRAMA ES GRATIS
Ubicación: MetWest High School, Oakland, CA 94606- Se puede llegar por BART y hay estacionamiento GRATIS!
Las actividades incluirán sesiones educativas divertidas e interactivas sobre nutrición y ejercicio, tecnología para la diabetes y medicamentos para la diabetes tipo 2. El contenido del programa se dará en Español e Inglés, y podrá participar toda la familia.
Tendrás la oportunidad para compartir e interactuar con otros padres. Los Monitores de DYF organizarán actividades apropiadas para la edad de los hermanos menores. Este es un programa en conjunto, organizado por DYF y UCSF.
El desayuno y el almuerzo para los participantes y sus familias es gratis!
